Copy of Mr. Sewall's state of Saco lands, under Maj. William Phillips's purchase of the Indians. This document appears to have been prepared ca. 1770, for Nathaniel Sparhawk, to assist in clarifying title disputes in the Saco River Valley arising out of Major Phillips's purchases of land between 1660 and 1664, from Ffluellin Sumptimus, Rogamock, Moghegan, and Mecomb, alias Capt. Sunday, all Indians. Places represented include: Biddeford, Saco, and Sanford, Me., and the Saco River Valley between New Hampshire and Maine.
